Giorgio Armani has unveiled a new unisex collection dedicated to the aesthetics of the 1980s – a key era for the Italian brand.

Usually, the fashion house showcases separate collections during the corresponding fashion weeks in Milan. However, in this case, the designer aimed to present to the audience a “modern concept of gender fluidity” and illustrate the idea that a stylish suit will look good on both women and men. This collection marks a return to the roots of Giorgio Armani. In the eighties, the relaxed silhouettes in business attire made the brand immensely popular, with the best illustration of that era being the film “American Gigolo” – the main character, brilliantly portrayed by actor Richard Gere, stylishly wore pleated pants, cashmere sweaters in natural shades, and double-breasted coats.

In the new collection, the typical Armani palette of gray, beige, brown, and black is combined with a striped print on shirts and ties. Among the future bestsellers are poplin shirts and cashmere-silk sweaters. “Expressing a relaxed philosophy and a modern approach to traditional tailoring – Giorgio Armani once initiated a new era in design and form. Today, we return to our roots,” summarizes the brand.
